Overall, good verification for this forecast. Within our risk area is where temperatures and wind chills fell the lowest overnight, dropping into the negative double digits for wind chills in some places but not really approaching -20°F or -25°F.
Eau Claire Public Schools in Berrien County did opt to dismiss students early today due to broken pipes and flooding, with cold temperatures likely contributing to that. This forced them to shut down their boiler systems, resulting in heating issues.
Outside of Eau Claire Public Schools, no other weather-related school closures/delays/early dismissals occurred this morning. It should be noted that our cyan-shaded "Minuscule" risk area is only used in cases where we don't anticipate closures, but can't totally rule out an isolated 1 or 2 occurring; that's why the risk for that particular category is shown as less than 15%.

Summary:
Wind chills will fall to sub-zero values across parts of our area on Monday morning and may fall to as low as -15°F for some areas south and west of Grand Rapids. These cold wind chills might result in a couple of particularly isolated school closures or delays on Monday morning.
Discussion:
As aforementioned, wind chills are expected to fall into the single digits and even below zero on Monday morning. Some areas to the south and west of Grand Rapids could see wind chills fall to around -15°F.

Along the immediate lakeshore, near and west of US-31, thanks to the relatively warm Lake Michigan waters, the wind chills should stay near to slightly above 0°F, and this will likely prevent school closures or delays along the immediate lakeshore. It's important to note that while wind chills can and do cause school closures in Michigan nearly every year at some point, it does take a lot to do this. Oftentimes, unless wind chill values fall to -20°F or lower, we don't typically see schools close. However, we won't entirely rule out a particularly isolated school closure or delay, or two for areas south and west of Grand Rapids, especially within districts that have a lack of effective HVAC systems.
