Another typical Michigan winter snow event will leave some fresh snow accumulations across much of west-central Michigan this evening and will probably cause some scattered school closings and/or delays for Monday morning.
Snow accumulations of 1-3 inches, with localized amounts up to 4 or 5 inches, are possible overnight tonight resulting in some areas of slippery roads and slow-going morning commutes.
The good news is that, at least at the time of writing, models are showing that by 7 AM must areas will only see an inch or two which may help alleviate some of the potential for more widespread closings. Due to this, we have opted to hold off on introducing a higher-risk region for this outlook.
Regardless, plan on a slower morning commute due to periods of low visibility and slick road conditions. Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 1pm Monday afternoon. Periods of moderate to heavy snow will continue through about the noon hour on Monday. Expect flurries for the remainder of the day.
We will provide updates below on an "as-needed" basis.
