As expected, school closings were not really an issue for Tuesday morning with only 1 closure reported on the far eastern edge of our "Minuscule" risk area. As a reminder, we like to see fewer than 3 closings within these minuscule risk areas.

Summary:
There is a "Limited" risk for school closures on Tuesday. Snow and lake-effect snow showers moving into the region early Tuesday morning may result in a couple of isolated school closures.
Discussion:
Our next round of wintry weather moves into the region early on Tuesday morning, as snow and lake-effect snow begin falling as early as 4:00 AM across Mason and Oceana Counties and by 6:00 AM across the rest of the US-31 corridor.
For Mason and Oceana Counties, snow accumulations of 1-3 inches and continuing falling snow may result in some particularly isolated closures. For Northwestern Mason County specifically, we have opted to introduce a “Limited” risk in the light-blue-shaded area where snow accumulations will likely be the highest (around 3+ inches) by 7:00 AM.
While there will not be any notable accumulation elsewhere across our area, areas along and west of US-31 may see as much as an inch by 7:00 AM, and that could lead to some particularly isolated closures as well, hence the cyan-shaded “Minuscule” risk for this region.
As snow moves in across the rest of the area (US-131 corridor around 6:00 AM and the I-69/US-127 corridors by 7:00 AM), it might start to be a bit of a slippery commute, but confidence in any school closures or delays is too low to warrant any probabilities for the rest of the area.
