Isolated to widely scattered school closures are possible for Thursday.

The largest concerns with this outlook are the forecasted wind chills across the southern and southeastern portions of our coverage area. Uncertainty surrounding the seemingly odd trends of many area schools north/northeast of Grand Rapids to remain open despite the cold weather and icy roads, impacts of Wednesday lake-effect snow showers on the western portions of our coverage area, and the continued progress of road crews preclude the introduction of a higher risk delineation for this outlook, though such delineation may be needed by tomorrow evening as confidence grows.
