Today will feature plenty of rain. This rain could be heavy at times, especially to the east of the US-131 corridor. Rainfall totals could exceed 1 inch in places and we will definetly see an impact on streams, rivers, and other waterways across West Michigan.

The NWS Weather Prediction Center has placed nearly all of West Michigan under a Marginal Risk for Excessive Rainfall. Thankfully, however, it does appear that the overall flooding threat will be low. Nonetheless, a risk for flooding and flash flooding does exist especially in flood-prone areas.
Winds will really ramp up over the next 36 hours and we'll see north/northwest winds of 15 - 30 MPH with gusts up to 50 MPH or so for much of the day on Friday. The NWS will likely issue a Wind Advisory to account for these winds as they could cause some minor wind damage, isolated power outages, and make driving high-profile vehicles difficult.
Saturday will start a warming trend and will feature sunny skies with highs near 60. By Sunday we'll see highs in the 70's across the regions and these warmer temps (60-70 degrees) will hang around for the next week or so.
We have our eyes tuned in to the forecast for next week, especially early next week, as there are multiple chances for thunderstorms, and perhaps some severe weather threat, though those threats are much to far out to discuss further at this time.
